Sam's in the double digits

This weekend Sam turned 10. It is so crazy that he is already 10 years old. I sure hope the next ten years slow down and i really get to take it all in. He is such a blessing to us and I am so thankful that God Blessed us with him. He is an answered prayer and I know God has many great things planned for him. When Sam was born he was under six pounds. 5pds 13ozs to be exact. When we brought him home from the hospital he weighed 5pds 7ozs. Man, was i scared. He was so tiny and perfect. I have learned so much in the last 10 years. I'm so glad to have my big boy now. He still comes and sits on my lap and i know one day soon that will stop. But until then, i will soak it up and enjoy every minute of it....

Here are a few pics from his birthday this weekend.
Sam's Harry Potter Cake. He loves him some Harry Potter.
I love this, he is singing happy birthday with us...
I sure do love that Smile
He was so excited about his poster for his room.

We are finally done with birthday parties this summer!!!

Happy Birthday to You

This past week was my mom's birthday. We had her over and made her a cake. A rainbow cake :-)
Her Birthday is on July 15th. I remember when i was pregnant with Samuel
we were thinking he might be born on my mom's birthday. He almost made it
Just a couple days off.

Happy 49th Birthday Mom. Yeah, that's right, 49th ;-)

New Orleans

Earlier this week me and the boys went with Blake to New Orleans.
Blake travels alot and during the summer we take road trips when we can.
On the way there it was sunny  and the sky was beautiful
I took a shot of the sky because it was so pretty.
About 10 minutes from downtown New Orleans this happened
If you have ever been to the downtown New Orleans you know it can
be pretty stinky. I love to go but even I have to admit it has a pretty
bad smell around the french quarter. Add a good rain and really hot
cement, well you get the idea!

I almost missed this sign. It said God Bless Louisiana and I thought
it was really neat
Once we checked into our Hotel it stopped raining and we walked down to the French Market.
Here are a few photos i took along the way. I hope you enjoy :-)

This looked fun, but we decided that the poop bag hanging on the rear of the horse
was to much...stanky.

This was a performer showing off his equipment...I think this woman's expression is so funny

this is the cathedral...So pretty

There were groups of people like this everywhere waiting for the
                                                  "ghost" and " vampire " tours....Creepy!
A voodoo doll...Hmmm. Could you use a voodoo doll? Haha. Joke.
Just think it's a little freaky that someone would try and use
such a thing.

we didn't get to eat at cafe Du monde :-(
we woke up to late. Instead we went to McDonald's
Can you tell they were Upset :-)

We left the next day and came home.
and you know the
saying....
There is no place like home

Take me out to the ball game...

There is nothing better than going to your little guys t-ball game and cheering him on.

Brennan decided he wanted to play T-ball this year. It was a learning experience for him and he fought me after the first practice..He wasn 't to hot about practicing twice a week. It interrupted his "free" time. By the end of the season he was excited every game and he wants to play next year. Here are a few pics that i snapped at his last game

This is Brennan on the end...He is six in this picture and so are all the other kids. He towers over them, He's so tall for his age

The season is over and now he's ready to play again... we can't wait for next season.
Great job Blue Jays!!!

Fiesta Baby

This past christmas my mother-in-law gave me fiesta ware for christmas. I love my fiesta ware. It is bright and cheery and makes me smile when i see it. Several months ago i found this little hutch at a care help and snatched it up. It's old and probably needs to be repainted but for now i leave it with it's shabby chic look. It's perfect to display my fiesta ware.
I found three coffee mugs that i had to have. They match my fiesta ware and have little inspirational words printed on the inside. Look how neat
The third one didn't show in the picture. It is bright yellow and it has"pray"printed inside. I love that it has the inspirational words, It is defintley motivational to see and helps me get going in the right direction first thing in the morning :-)

The old chair on the side of the road

I love finding things that are old and seeing potential in them for something more. Something better than what they are. Last month i found this chair on the side of the road. Someone had put it to the curb and i saw it and knew i had to have it. I had been wanting to redo a chair. I see them all the time in pier one and other stores and they are just so expensive. So, with my mom's help. Well, alot of my mom's help. Thanks Mom...You are the best :-) Here is the old chair now
I went over the wood with a little stain and then i found this really cute material. It looks really cute in Mattie and Brennan's room. They can sit in it to read their books. I also found all of the frames at a yard sale last week and painted them all white. I went to hobby Lobby and found really cute scrapbook paper. This is how it turned out
I still want to put a few pics in a couple of the frames. I just wanted to show the progress.
I love this picture of Lola...it's not really Lola our dog, but it looks identical and we just say it is :-)
The caption says
"never underestimate the warmth of a cold nose"
Brennan loves Lola and won't go to sleep without her so this picture is perfect for his room.
I still have curtains and quilts to purchase and I'll show you when I'm done

30 dirty little toes

I love these dirty little feet. They are what makes my life worthwhile. I'll try and cherish all the dirty little prints that they track around my house.I'll try not to get discouraged that i can't keep my house spotless the way i would like. For now, these little feet are more important then a spotless floor. More important then a "show-case" house. I will miss these little feet one day...But for now, I'll enjoy them as much as i can :-)

Lola Bug

This is Miss Lola. Also known as Lola bug, buggie boo, bug...You get the picture.

Okay, I felt really bad leaving out Miss Lola so I'll tell you a little bit about her. We brought her home on valentine's day Two years ago. She was tiny and I was really scared that she wouldn't survive my boys. We had alot of talks about being very careful with her back and not carrying her. We had a few scares along the way. Overall she has done well. She loves to sleep with the boys and she stands her ground when she is being picked on. Here are a few pics of her with the family
Brennan loves Lola and is the only one i trust to pick her up and put her in her kennel.
Lola is a really sweet dog and definitely a great addition to our crazy family. Yea, that's right i said crazy!

Hey there Delilah

Meet Delilah                                                      Then

She is a labradoodle and she is the sweetest dog. We got her back in February and she has grown so much.

                                                                           Now
when i was looking for a new puppy i found her and the breeder was offering her for a lot less than most breeders. So, I made an hour and a half trip to Texas. The boys picked her out. It was really dark by the time we picked her up so i was unaware of the big flea problem she had. Once we got her home i gave her a bath, that's when is saw the fleas attacking jumping on me. I'm a bit of a germ-a-phob so this put me into panic mode. Thank goodness we have a miniature wienie dog and i had the flea medicine that was appropriate for a 6 pound puppy. So, after many vet trips and having to treat a parasite problem ( One that was not the fleas) That's a whole other post... She ended up costing as much as the "other" puppies would of. But, I wouldn't trade her for anything. She is the sweetest, Easiest dog I've ever had.

Back Patio Makeover

before we started we had to clean the patio with a type of cleanser that has acid in it. it allows the stain to adhere to the cement. After cleaning this is what it looked like.

This is my sweet husband that wasn't really happy about working out in the hot sun on a Saturday, But he loves me so he did it anyways :-)

Finally finished all i have to do is the edge work. We had to let it dry overnight and then we got to put all of this back

This is what it looks like now. I love it!

I planted a few new flowers in my planters.I love getting outside and planting things. It is therapy for me.

I love the plaque in this. It is so true and I guess that's why I love being outside and seeing all the beautiful flowers and watching things grow.

I love this hippo. My mom bought it for me and i think it is so cute.

It's amazing what a little work and sweat can get you. It isn't what we thought we would be doing on our Saturday but I sure am glad it's done
